K-12 educators who are interested in teaching English or Math dual enrollment courses can obtain a dual enrollment certification.
If you hold bachelor's degree you can choose to specialize in dual enrollment through the Master's of Science in Teaching and Learning program. This specialization requires six credits.
If you hold a master's degree, you can obtain the dual enrollment certification directly in an 18 credit program.
Most states require content exams as part of their teacher licensure requirements.
For example, the TeacherReady™ certification program is in Florida and the Florida Department of Education requires that students pass three exams a General Knowledge Exam in writing, reading, English, and math; Subject Area Exam, AND a Professional Educator exam before being recommended for a Florida certification.
Students enrolled in the Colorado State University-Global Campus Math or Science Teacher Licensure Programs is an approved teacher licensure program in Colorado. CSU-Global requires students to meet the Colorado Department of Education endorsement exam rules, as a requirement of admissions to these specific licensure programs.
